Solve the problem; don’t be a hypocrite

Calling yourself “pro-life” does not give you the moral high ground.
This is especially true since your friendly evangelical Christian/Republican who tries to own this ground doesn’t care about you or children, they just want your votes so the rich, white man remains in power and women continue to be oppressed.
Abortion isn’t the problem. You may think it is; that is not what I’m saying. I’m saying that it’s a smokescreen designed to control you.
If you want to get abortion and its legality, morality, whatever, on the table for discussion, do your part to eliminate the causes, and don’t be a hypocrite.
-When the foster care program has too many social workers and too few children because they are all adopted and loved the same way as you would love children biologically related to you
-When every child in this country has the best education this world can offer, from preschool through whatever education level is needed to help them be happy, contributing members of society who can support themselves and their families in a way that will make our current government programs (ineffective, expensive, and unfair) no longer feasible
-When every person in this country has the healthcare paid for by our taxes so that it won’t make for profit companies richer and put people on the street for being ill and that supports them through their entire life, including dental care, critical care, day-to-day health, quality of life care, and elder and end of life care (and that includes women with the right to make their own health decisions and have both education for and actual access to birth control))
-When we reform both our juvenile and our adult justice systems so that violent criminals are fairly and equally punished, and minor offenses are treated appropriately, and without regard to class, race, or any other way of discrimination, as well as no longer allowing companies to grow rich through the for-profit prison system, and that corrections are completely revamped for health, safety, and humane treatment (remember, you are pro-life)
-When we sow respect, love, and dignity for all, no matter creed, color, sexual orientation, disability, or whatever prejudice we humans can muster, and we teach and model this to our children consistently, providing tools for kindness and how to support other people rather than the opposite
-When there’s no need to worry about our children being abused or neglected or injured by violence
-When we teach respect for the self, those around you, those you don’t know, and the earth which sustains us so that the generations that follow have a healthy, functioning planet on which to reside
-When we learn that only when we support each other, reach out a hand when someone is falling, truly listen, instead of listening to respond, and actually care, that our lives actually function properly
-When liberty and justice for all truly means what it says

Then abortion can be debated on its merits or lack thereof. Until then, stop judging women. Stop being a hypocrite. Work on solving the problem.
